  Winter 2005-2006

What Winter?

Rochester recorded its warmest January in 73 years. We received only 13 inches of snow all month, and that all melted quickly. Almost 50 degrees F on January 28!

So, we saw green grass and brown dirt most of the season, with never enough for cross-country skiing. houseb20060128.JPG (1458564 bytes)          housea20060128.JPG (1494931 bytes)
Winter initially arrived in a quite picturesque fashion in early December. Enough snow to apply a pretty layer, and light an fluffy enough to be easy to move. 100_1250.jpg (680546 bytes)          100_1249.jpg (626518 bytes)
We find the view from our living room across the yards quite pretty when the area is covered in snow. But, for 2005-06, the winter season was generally a bust! 100_1247.jpg (1194886 bytes)          100_1248.jpg (933928 bytes)
But, the cats have trouble finding areas to walk that aren't covered with that cold snow! 100_1258.jpg (487859 bytes)        100_1259.jpg (521272 bytes)
